The Westinghouse Copeman Patent Turnover Toaster was created to solve this limitation by providing a convenient way to rotate the bread halfway through the toasting cycle.

The toaster's design reflected the technological capabilities of the 1920s. At that time, household electricity was becoming increasingly common, and manufacturers were eager to create appliances that would simplify daily tasks.
